Quill Energy Group operates and develops projects in petroleum, utilities, mining, minerals and metering with international partners, and invests in projects, concessions, PPA and BOO agreements.

Our smart metering solutions for energy, water, gas and BTU are developed through intensive R&D, based on decades of operating within the utility sector. We tailor unique metering products and integrated management platforms to our market, giving utilities data analysis and a professional interface for their users.

Quill Utilities operates and maintains electrical, water, district cooling and firefighting networks for residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Eng. Adham Abubakr

Eng. Adham Abubakr started on the first rung of the energy ladder, in the field: converting cars to natural gas, connecting gas lines into homes and learning fuel distribution first-hand. He rose fast: at an age when most engineers are still finding their feet, he was managing a 65 MW solar power plant, a project worth more than USD 70 million.

At TAQA Arabia's power group he moved from business development engineer to manager, leading new generation, distribution and renewable projects across the MENA region through EPC negotiation and financial close with international lenders. In 2018 he founded Quill Energy Group, and today he holds board and council seats usually reserved for the sector's most senior figures.

Chairman

Dr. Tamer Abubakr

Dr. Tamer Abubakr, founder and Chairman of Quill Energy Group, is one of the pillars of Egypt's petroleum, mining and energy sectors, with fifty years of experience. He held senior leadership roles at the Ministry of Petroleum and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), across exploration, distribution, transport, energy and maritime transport, rising to Vice-Chairman of EGPC, Chairman of Cooperation Petroleum Company and rapporteur of the ministry's supreme committee for crude pricing and petroleum product trade.

In the private sector he founded TAQA Arabia, chaired Taqa Gas, Master Gas, Nile Valley Gas and REBCO Damietta Gas, and served on the boards of SUMED, AMOC, Petrotrade and Gas Misr. He holds a PhD in national strategy from the Nasser Higher Military Academy, on Egypt and the economics of global oil transport, and is a fellow of its National Defence College.
