Smart meters in Egypt

Prepaid and smart electricity, water, gas and BTU meters for utilities, developers and industry, supplied and supported from Cairo.

Quill Meters

A smart meter supplier for every utility you run.

Quill Meters supplies prepaid and smart meters to utilities, government entities, real-estate developers and EPC contractors in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Our range covers prepaid card electricity meters, three-phase, CT-connected and medium-voltage smart meters, smart water meters, prepaid gas meters and BTU meters for district cooling.

Every meter is built to international standards, including IEC 62053 and 62055, STS prepayment, DLMS/COSEM, MID and EN 1359, and connects to the QE-SYS-2.0 AMI system. One platform handles remote reading, prepaid billing, connect and disconnect, and customer self-service through the myQuill App.

Buyer's guide

How to choose a smart meter supplier in Egypt.

Standards and local specifications

Ask for IEC 62052, 62053 and 62055 compliance for electricity meters, STS for prepayment, MID and OIML R49 for water meters, and EN 1359 for gas meters. For single-phase prepaid meters on the national grid, check the meter follows the EEHC specification.

Approvals and certifications

Quill holds an EgyptERA power distribution licence, an NTRA IoT certificate and a cybersecurity certificate for smart energy meters, and is an approved supplier to EGAS.

Communication that fits the site

Choose plug-and-play options per project: 4G LTE, GPRS, G3-PLC, PRIME-PLC, LoRaWAN, RF, RS485 or M-Bus, so the same meter works in a compound, a tower or a rural network.

One system for all utilities

Running electricity, water, gas and cooling on separate tools raises cost and errors. QE-SYS-2.0 manages all four in one database, with Egyptian tariff structures, fee deduction and SMS recharge reminders.

Local support after installation

Installation, commissioning, card top-up, billing and collection can be handled by Quill's utility management team, so the meters keep earning after handover.
